February 10 - 17, 2024
Zihuatanejo, Mexico

Thrive_PlayaViva-111.jpg

Spend *eight* yoga-filled days and *seven* starry nights at Playa Viva, an eco-luxury wellness resort on the Mexican coast (our 2024 retreat is one day longer than in 2023!)

Psst - turn the sound on!

WHAT'S INCLUDED
...a lot!

LODGING

We'll stay in gorgeous ocean-side Treehouses, King Eco-Casitas, and Studios. Playa Viva was built from the bottom up with regenerative principles in mind. It runs on a 100% off-grid solar system and uses smart water design to conserve water and replenish the local aquifer with even cleaner water. Each unique casita uses renewable building materials harvested on-site from the farm.

A LOT OF YOGA

We'll have ocean-side yoga classes every morning and afternoon - with special additional yoga workshops like Posture Clinics and Yin & Yoga Nidra - with your favorite Thrive teachers. Classes every morning and afternoon will reflect a diversity of all your faves from the Thrive schedule. Playa Viva provides Manduka yoga mats, blocks, blankets, and straps for our practices.

NOURISHMENT

Playa Viva chefs prepare three "healthy Mexican" farm-to-table meals daily + snacks and refreshments. All of their food is fresh, organic, and locally sourced, often curated from their on-site farm. They also provide coffee (really good, really fresh coffee), teas, agua frescas (like watermelon water), and filtered water. Playa Viva accommodates a wide variety of diets, including vegan, vegetarian, pescatarian, omnivore, low to no sugar, and gluten-free, among other special dietary concerns and allergies.

COMMUNITY. BEACH TIME. YOU TIME. TURTLE TIME.

Playa Viva is all about the simple luxury of nature. Located on a mile of pristine private beach surrounded by lush green palms, we'll "fall asleep to the lullaby of the Pacific Ocean and wake to the warm breeze on our skin". And they have a baby sea turtle sanctuary. Naturally.

ALSO INCLUDED...

Ground transportation to and from the Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo airport (ZIH).

Taxes, gratuity for the property caretakers, and a donation to Playa Viva's Turtle Sanctuary and to their other social and environmental impact work.

WE'RE ALL GOING.

For the week of February 10 - 17, we're taking the Thrive party to MEXICO.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Do I need a visa or a passport to travel to Mexico?

American citizens do not need a visa to travel to Mexico, but travelers will need a valid, up-to-date passport to travel outside the U.S.

Does Playa Viva have Wifi?

Yes, wifi is complimentary in the common areas of the resort (though we recommend that you unplug from the Gram and everything else for a week!) Casitas / accommodations close to the common area pick up the signal easily for cell service, and many cell providers don't charge roaming or other fees to use your phone in Mexico just as you would stateside. But it's definitely worth double checking with your cell provider before your trip!

Should I get travel insurance?

Yas. We recommend you purchase travel insurance in case you become ill before or during your trip. Insure My Trip is one option!

Do the bar and the boutique at Playa Viva accept Mexican Pesos or US dollars?

Playa Viva accepts both currencies.

How can I book a massage or other spa services at Playa Viva?

Playa Viva is always staffed with a masseuse, some of whom can provide additional spa services such as facials and specialty scrubs using locally harvested materials. Their massage huts are directly on the beach (!), and everyone who got a massage at Playa Viva in 2023 described it as one of the best, if not the best, massages of their LIFE. Services vary based on the provider, so definitely inquire about the spa menu when you arrive. Prices for massage are $110 for 60 minutes, $130 for 75 minutes, $150 for 90 minutes and $190 for 120 minutes.

Where is Playa Viva and how do I get there?

Playa Viva is located near the small village of Juluchuca on the Pacific Coast of Mexico in the State of Guerrero. It's just a 35 minute ride from the Zihuatanejo/Ixtapa International Airport (ZIH).

Flights to ZIH from Seattle may route through Los Angeles or San Francisco.

Is pricing per person or per room?

Pricing is listed per person and per occupancy type (single, double, triple, quad). Double occupancy is great for couples who want max privacy. Triple and Quad occupancy are great for couples, friends, or for making new Thrive friends!

Is airfare included?

Airfare is not included in pricing.

What kind of excursions are available?

Playa Viva works with locals to give you an opportunity to engage with the local environment and community in a way that honors them. They have a range of activities for whatever you're looking for - whether you want to indulge in the beauty of nature, integrate into the local culture, rejuvenate your spirit and body, or have an adventure in the tropical paradise.

Is there a recommended schedule for excursions? How do we book our excursions?

Playa Viva recommends taking at least two excursions, one on Tuesday and one on Thursday, with beachy rest days in between. On Monday, we'll all get an orientation on all the excursions they offer and we'll have the opportunity to book our favorites from there.

Could I do a payment plan?

Sure thing! Flexible payments are available, just email Kristi at info@thriveyogamanette.com. Your spot just has to be paid in full by October 15!

What if I need to cancel?

There are no refunds for the $500 deposit for any reason; that deposit holds your spot and prevents others from booking it. If you cancel in writing, via email to info@thriveyogamanette.com prior to July 1, you will not be responsible for the remainder of your payment.

If you need to cancel on or after July 1, the remainder of your payment must be paid in full (because we're fully on the hook for your spot at the retreat to Playa Viva), in which case we can give you a credit of what you paid for your spot minus the $500 deposit.

Got more questions?

We've got more answers - check out Playa Viva's extensive list of FAQs or reach out to Kristi at info@thriveyogamanette.com.

Is alcohol included?

Alcohol is not included in the retreat price, but it's available for purchase at the Playa Viva bar. We *highly* recommend their Sunset Margs. Basically everything they serve is delicious and their cocktails are top-tier.
